Frisco police released more information about a man who ran from a traffic stop on Wednesday, leading to an hours-long effort to arrest him.

Frisco police took a suspect into custody Wednesday afternoon after a lengthy search near a church that began when the suspect ran away from a traffic stop. An X post at 2:15 p.m. from the department said its officers were searching for the suspect who fled on foot from the stop that occurred in the area of Preston Road and John Wesley Drive.

The Frisco Police Department has arrested a subject who failed to identify himself and later evaded on foot. On Wednesday, Sept. 25, at approximately 1:13 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Preston Road and Stonebrook Parkway on a vehicle that ran a red light.

There is a large police presence in Frisco on Preston Road, near Frisco Methodist Global Church. Frisco police say they are searching for a suspect who fled a traffic stop on foot. FOX 4 crews have seen several law enforcement officers in the area.
