Professors, researchers and faculty from at least four Chicago universities said, without grants from the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, everyone's health will suffer.

Professor Tim Koh, who receives his project funding through the National Institutes of Health, said if his funding is not renewed this month, "it's going to be devastating" for himself and the members of his lab.
