After a delay of several months, General Motors said owners of its battery-powered models would now be able to use Tesla charging stations with adapters.

Hoping to spark higher EV sales, General Motors Co. is offering owners adapters to access the Tesla Supercharger network.

General Motors Co. said Wednesday it will offer access to more than 17,800 Tesla Inc. superchargers through a $225 NACS DC adapter that it has approved for use with its electric vehicles (EVs). The move is part of an effort by the auto giant to provide access to more than 231,

GM will offer the NACS adapters for $225 through its vehicle brand mobile apps, which can also be used to locate charging stations and pay for charging sessions. They will initially be made available in the United States Wednesday, followed by Canada later this year.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) shares are trading higher on Wednesday. Starting today, the company will provide its customers access to over 17,800 Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) Superchargers using a GM-approved NACS DC adapter.

General Motors is now offering adapters to help its electric vehicle owners access Tesla chargers. The automaker said Wednesday that it is opening up access to more than 17,800 Tesla Superchargers for its customers,

GM's new NACS adapter is usable with all its electric vehicles, including the outgoing Chevrolet Bolt EV, production of which ended at the end of 2023. A GM spokesperson did tell Car and Driver that some Bolt EVs might need a software update to work seamlessly with Tesla's network.

General Motors (GM) and Tesla have opened over 17,800 superchargers in the United States and Canada for GM electric vehicle owners, including Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac.
