DALLAS – Texas grocery giant H-E-B announced plans to bring its flagship store to the city of Dallas for the first time. In a news release Thursday morning, the San Antonio-based company said it purchased nearly 10 acres of land at the southeast corner of LBJ Freeway and Hillcrest Road in North Dallas.

The Texas grocer announced on Wednesday that it purchased a property in the city for its first H-E-B format store. The nearly 10-acre site is at the southeast corner of Hillcrest Road and LBJ Freeway, inside the loop in Dallas.

Texas-based grocery chain H-E-B has purchased land in Dallas, marking a continuation of its expansion deeper into North Texas. The 10-acre site will be on the southeast corner at Hillcrest Road and LBJ Freeway.

H-E-B first entered the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2001, with the opening of an outpost of its upscale Central Market concept there. In the years since, the retailer has opened five H-E-B stores in the DFW Metroplex area.
