Update: 20,630 acres burned by Mountain Fire in Ventura County, now 60% contained
Mountain Fire initially started 8:51 a.m. Nov. 6 in Ventura County. It has burned 20,630 acres after being active for a week. By Wednesday morning, a crew of 2,399 firefighters effectively contained 60% of the fire. The cause of it is still under investigation.
Officials said 132 homes were lost and 88 damaged, making one of the most destructive fires in the region in several years.
The Mountain Fire has swallowed homes in Southern California, while multiple fires are popping up on the East Coast.
