Get the first official details on the next Avatar. The next generation's Avatar has awakened, and she's an earthbender.For the 20th anniversary of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender, the network revealed the first official details on the next animated sequel series,

The new 2D animated series will consist of 26 half-hour episodes spread across two seasons, or Books 1 & 2 in “Avatar” style. News of the pickup comes as “Last Airbender” prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with the original show having debuted on Feb. 21, 2005.

Nickelodeon has ordered a new sequel series to Avatar: The Last Airbender that takes place after The Legend of Korra. According to Variety, Avatar: Seven Havens will consist of 26 half-hour episodes spread across two seasons, also known as Books 1 & 2 in Avatar style.

At present, no official images have been released regarding the upcoming Avatar though it seems from the official description that they’ll have their work cut for them, “ Avatar: Seven Havens is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm.

Nickelodeon has greenlit an animated series set in the world of its beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new show, titled Avatar: Seven Havens, has a 26-episode order and will follow a new Avatar. The series will be the third in the Avatar -verse, following the original show and The Legend of Korra .

After more than a decade, the next Avatar has finally emerged at Nickelodeon Studios, and fans can look forward to a third adventure in the franchise.

The World of Avatar is expanding once again, but in order to move forward, audiences will need to look back on what came before with Avatar Korra.
