By Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo BARRIE, Ontario - Canadian flagmaker Flags Unlimited's sales have doubled from a year earlier, the company's owners said, as tensions with the neighboring United States fuel a wave of patriotism.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threat against Canada has sent sales of Canadian flags soaring. “I would say 50 per cent,” said Murray Jefferies of Flying Colours International in Toronto. “Interesting fact for you, about 26 per cent of the American households own a (U.S.) flag. It’s only about two per cent in Canada, so we have to catch up.”
