Hong Kong’s weather forecaster will lower the No 8 typhoon signal at 10.20am, as Tropical Storm Toraji is set to weaken gradually and education authorities announce that classes of afternoon schools will resume on Thursday. “Classes of PM primary and secondary schools and evening schools will resume today,” the Education Bureau said.

Tropical Storm Toraji: Hong Kong issues T8 typhoon warning signal
According to the Hong Kong Observatory database, it is the latest No 8 signal on record, beating November 9, 1972, when Typhoon Pamela struck. Toraji is one of four storms to emerge simultaneously in the western North Pacific and South China Sea in November for the first time since records began.
