A Red Flag Warning​ is back in effect for much of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as the fire threat remains high.

New York City has issued a red flag warning that will stay in effect until 6 p.m. Friday. A notice on the NotifyNYC social media account says, New Yorkers may see or smell smoke because of multiple wildfires burning in New Jersey.

As efforts to battle a wildfire on the New Jersey/New York border continue, much of southern New York is now under a red flag warning, pointing to a heightened risk of additional fires.
