Swedish buyout group EQT named company veteran Per Franzen as its new chief executive and managing partner, replacing Christian Sinding, who will step down in May.

EQT, a global private equity fund (PEF) operator affiliated with the Wallenberg family in Sweden, is replacing its chief executive officer.

Franzen is deputy managing partner and head of private capital for Europe and North America at EQT. He most recently led the €22 billion raise of EQT X, which was the largest private equity fund closed globally in 2024. EQT had €269 billion in total assets under management as of 31 Dec.

EQT AB has appointed Per Franzen, a 20-year-veteran of the Swedish private equity firm, to lead the company through its next fundraising push and continued expansion into real estate.
