A historic blowout nearly turned into a historic collapse for Alabama. No matter how the win happened, we learned a lot about DeBoer.

Up 30-7 with less than two minutes remaining in what was as dominant a first half as you'll see, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer was furious.  There were countless offseason stories about how nice and normal DeBoer is in comparison to his fiery and maniacal predecessor.

There is no world in which finding a replacement for Nick Saban at Alabama was going to be an easy job — or one that many would jump at. Not that the Alabama job isn’t desirable, but following someone like Saban is an impossible ask. Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer jumped at the chance, anyways, with the support of Saban.
