Paris is bolstering security for the France-Israel soccer match at Stade de France, following recent clashes in Amsterdam. Concerns are high due to strained diplomatic ties amid the Israel-Gaza conflict.

French authorities have stepped up security in Paris ahead of a France-Israel soccer match on Thursday, hoping to avoid a repeat of violent clashes between locals and Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam last week.

Paris police said Sunday that 4,000 officers and 1,600 stadium staff will be deployed for a France-Israel soccer match to ensure security in and around the stadium and on public transportation a week after violence against Israeli fans in Amsterdam.

Security at the Stade de France and surrounding transport networks will be reinforced, with 4,000 police officers deployed, compared to the usual 1,200-1,300 for a sold-out match. Protests are planned outside the stadium, particularly in Saint-Denis, where demonstrators will voice opposition to the event.

Israeli footballers and supporters "are welcome" at the France v Israel Nations League match on Thursday at the Stade de France in Paris, said French Europe minister on Tuesday. The UEFA Nations League match between France and Israel at the Stade de France scheduled for Thursday will take place amid fears of potential disturbances following violence against Jewish supporters last week in Amsterdam during the match between Ajax Amsterdam and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

"I’m more concerned about France’s attack on the pitch than anything that might happen off it" Ben Shimon said, regarding possible threats to the upcoming game.

Israel has urged fans to avoid Thursday's France-Israel football tie, which authorities fear could become a flashpoint following violence in Amsterdam following a match involving an Israeli team.

France and Israel will play in a UEFA Nations League match on Thursday, with French President Emmanuel Macron expected to attend.
