I assume the temps will still be scorching hot, so does anyone have suggestions of an amazing campsite that offers plenty of shade and is private? There are so many! Any other tips are greatly appreciated! My son is hoping to do a little climbing on our way north to the Sawtooths and Frank Church.

August may not be as scorching as you imagine, since most of the campsites are above 6,200 feet. It can be quite pleasant. You did not say what kind of camping unit you are in, but …

August may not be as scorching as you imagine, since most of the campsites are above 6,200 feet. It can be quite pleasant. You did not say what kind of camping unit you are in, but here are some shady tent sites: #18-20, 27-28, 36-37, 41-43, 46-49, 53-55; my favorites are #37, 46, 54.
